This new hotel was designed with an innovative approach that incorporated below-market housing in an adjacent portion of the lot to facilitate permitting approval. Featuring an amazing balance of multi-family residential homes and resort-like amenities, the Dutton Avenue Vibe Apartments were designed by AXIS/GFA's San Francisco multi-family residential design practice. This hotel renovation project saw AXIS/GFA undertake one of its largest lobby, reception, and lounge renovation programs to date. Hilton Hotel, Arcadia California
An impressive 13-story high-rise, this multi-family residential project in San Francisco includes over 3,000 square feet of commercial and mixed-use space. Representing one of the latest projects in AXIS/GFA's boutique hotel design portfolio is the San Pedro hotel, boasting a bougie destination rooftop pool lounge. An exciting new hotel and mixed-use commercial project right at home in North Hollywood's Arts District, a significant portion of this project is dedicated to art and gallery spaces. A 2006 Gold Nugget Award finalist, this massive multi-family residential and mixed-use project was designed by now-AXIS/GFA Principal Architect Shawn Alexander. The Clancy Boutique Hotel Renovation

What’s the most inspiring/fulfilling aspect of your job? I love being able to provide unique experiences for the users of our spaces. A sizable new-build multi-family residential architectural design project, the Riviera saw the addition of 24 multi-family residential units to Walnut Creek, California's housing inventory. This mixed-use multi-family residential architectural design project saw AXIS/GFA design 166 residences over six stories. Adding to the firm’s already-established portfolio of Arizona hotel design projects, AXIS/GFA was commissioned to contribute to the renovation and rebranding of the new Wilde Resort and Spa. The word ‘axis’ in architecture refers to an imaginary line that connects the center of a building or space to the edges. This line can be thought of as a way to bring harmony to a space, as it provides a sense of balance and proportion. In many cases, the axis is used to help define the layout of a space, and can be used to create a focal point within a room.
